# Weigh a decision

> Set your criteria, research what matters, read the brief, record your choice and review it later.

## Steps

1. Choose Decisions in the top bar. To see a finished decision first, open the example. Every value in it is made up.
2. Choose New decision, or Start with this structure on the example. Describe your situation by typing or speaking, and answer the questions Prolepsia asks. A draft of the decision grows beside the chat.
3. Confirm the hard limits and goals Prolepsia heard. Only the ones you confirm count. Confirm the date Prolepsia suggests or pick your own, then choose Prepare decisions.
4. Check the title, the context, the date and the options, and choose Create decision.
5. Open Options and add your criteria: the hard limits no option may cross, your goals and what you would like. Prolepsia may propose some. Only the ones you confirm count.
6. Open Evidence. Prolepsia ranks the research it suggests: forecasts, facts to check and actions. Put aside what you do not need and choose Approve plan.
7. Choose Start forecasts. Check the price and your balance, then confirm. Approving the plan starts nothing.
8. When the forecasts finish, read the Overview. The current reading says what the forecasts mean for each option, whether the reading is current, and the one next step. Select any question in the reading to open the evidence behind it.
9. When you are ready, choose Record your choice. Pick an option, wait, or gather more evidence, say why, and set the next actions and when to review.
10. When the review comes due, choose Review now. Keeping your choice is a complete review. You can also change it or move the review to a later day.
11. Open Actions for more. Use Notes to steer every forecast, Conditions to rerun questions when something happens, and Live mode to keep the map current within a monthly credit cap. Share the decision with your organization, talk it through in Discussion, and choose Archive when you are done.

## Good to know

- Building the map costs no credits. Forecasting the questions does, and you see the price before anything starts.
- Prolepsia never records a choice for you and never sets your criteria. A forecast is a probability with its reasons. It is not a promise.
- A conversation you leave unfinished is kept for 30 days after your last change, then deleted.
